Once added, it's not possible to make a damage effect non-lethal, besides taking it as an alternate effect. Lethal Damage, a +0 modifier by default that is permanent and can be added to Damage Effects. Who are your enemies/villains in your life?īy Preference, would work best if your character is either relatively fresh out of high school or a relatively younger adult (in his early to mid 20s) but there are rooms for veterans and older heroes too. Is your superhero identity public or secret? If so, why? Power Levels 12 to 15 tend to be legendary in the setting.įollow a strong theme for your character. At Power Level 10 in the setting, you are considered a respectable superhero, the general power level of most superheroes out there. Power Level 10, 150 Power Points, follow the guidelines from Character Creation. While Golden City would be where most comic book issues/scenes will take place, by default the game assumes that your character will be able to travel all over the world and beyond. The Golden City Knights end up being busy all around the world and which leaves most villains and other local threats to be a problem, but luckily there are new heroes and teams to step up to the plate. Golden City Knights are the premier/#1 superhero team in the City and the World. Golden City is a relatively large city with 1 million people. The Southern part is mostly industrial, airports, and transportation hubs. The Eastern part of the city where you will find most of the suburbs, colleges, technical communities and campuses. To the North, you can find the Northridge Hills, where Manors, Estates and luxury schools can be found. It is close to the western docks and the center of the city activity. The Heart of the city is downtown, where the Golden City Chronicle and many others make their home. Golden City is located on the West Coast, along two rivers where they flow into the Pacific Ocean. On the otherside of the coin, you have people who hate "Supers" with a passion and want nothing to do with them.

They follow them on social media and collect their trading cards and other collectibles. For the regular folk living in the Ultraverse, Superheroes gather fans, good or evil both have their crowd. Heavens and Hells, alternate worlds, etc. Multiple Dimensions and Parallel/alternate realities exist. Mutants or people born with Superpowers are the most common origin but far from being the only one in the setting, Mystics, gadgets, aliens and many others are part of the world.

The setting is by default a near-future science fiction, modern with a few advances due to the presence of mad geniuses and other beings. The range of comic book powers is close to limitless in the Ultraverse. Immortal, ancient heroes, gods (all mythologies included and even some folklore), and other beings have existed for far longer but Superheroes, as known by modern context, have appeared in the early 20th century. Superpowers aren't new to the world and have been part of the public eye for a long time, with the first evidence of superpowers manifesting in the 19th century. System: Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition The Platinum Age is a mix of the Silver Age and the Golden Age of comics with modern sensibilities and captures the sense of wonder of the Golden Age, the tradition of being a superhero while fighting the cynism of the Silver Age. The tone of the game is "Platinum Age" or often known as the Modern Age of comic books. Ultraverse is inspired by my favorite comic book stories, One Punch Man, My Hero Academia and Invincible. Ultraverse is similar to our world taking place in the 21st century, the year 2020, beginning around February 2020, without the global pandemic events taking place and a world where Superheroes are known and operate in the world. Ultraverse is simply my superhero setting.
